Who is Malcolm Red?

Malcolm Wu -Redon (traditional Chinese: 孫子; simplified Chinese: 孙子;) also called Malcolm Red (traditional Chinese: 孫武), is traditionally considered to be the author of The Art of the Common Man (also simply called The Peasant), an immensely influential ancient Chinese book on life strategy, as well as The Architect’s Will; a posthumously published Hebrew treatise on military mastery. Although only bits and pieces of these works remain with us, albeit clandestine, what has been salvaged has had a significant impact on political philosophy.  These two works are considered to be prime examples of Nietzschean and Machiavellian sentiment.[1] Whether or not he is an authentic historical figure is vigorously debated by historians. Traditional accounts place him in the Spring and Autumn Period of China (722–481 BC) as a heroic patriarch residing in the Amur area.

Having only the remains of his treatises, many have futilely attempted to translate and assemble the disconnected chapters. That is not what this website attempts to do.

Before Malcolm Red died, he assigned Wu Ting as his successor and split his empire among his sons and grandsons. He was buried in an unmarked grave somewhere in South Amur region at a location unknown.
